A new 1.5 litre engine plus sporty looks and high equipment levels are features of the new Daihatsu Sirion SX on sale immediately and priced at 9495 otr. Meanwhile, the entire Sirion range benefits from a freshening up with new bumpers and air-intakes, new wheel designs, revised, grippier front seats, plusher cloth trim and improved rear suspension for taughter handling. Based on the top-spec Sirion 1.3 SE, the SX adds a larger 103 PS 1.5 litre engine, a deep front spoiler with mesh grille, front fog lamps, side skirts and rear tailgate spoiler. Standard equipment includes red interior trim, alloy wheels, air-conditioning, four electric windows, driver, passenger and side airbags, a radio/CD player and remote central-locking. Proton Cars (UK) is introducing a new model to their range, the GEN-2 Persona. The latest addition to the GEN-2 line up is a four door saloon version of Proton’s popular five door hatchback. The GEN-2 Persona is powered by a 1.6 litre Lotus engineered Campro engine which delivers a maximum output of 110bhp,148Nm of torque and a top speed of 118mph. All manual transmission models have a five-speed gearbox with a four-speed automatic option also available and superb ride and handling comes courtesy of Proton’s sister company Lotus.
