Drivers beware - Vehicle theft is on the rise

The KIASafe Pouch has been developed by the manufacturer, to stop thieves from using relay attack devices.  This is where they obtain the frequency by simply being close to the car key. The case eliminates the chance of this, by acting in a similar way to a Faraday cage. It has a layer of metal within, that blocks the device that thieves use.

KIA says that its research engineers are working to ensure that future keyless entry systems are rendered impervious to attack.

In recent weeks there has been a sharp rise in the number of vehicle thefts - especially targeting keyless entry vehicles, using sophisticated key cloning technology. This allows the thieves to gain access and even start your car without your key and no forced entry. The computer can detect the signal from your key (if left within range) and either amplify the signal to unlock and start your car or clone a key to start the engine.
